What do you guys think? After spending a whole month without a laptop and doing alot of research i found that to be the best value for a laptop powerful enough to play crysis. I read this review of the A1 model and saw how beautifully it preformed and i thought ,the extra processing power of the B1 might do it more justice.

I was thinking of installing windows XP on it and purchasing This
to maybe give it a little more boost. My goal is to be able to play crysis on it at medium settings and at least 20FPS. And i believe it can be done under windows XP, 4gigs ram and 7200RPM harddrive. What do you guys think? How else can i tweak it to get the most out of it without buying a whole new processor. I'll probably get a 2.5 Ghz sometime next year when its really needed and the price is reasonable, but not now.

Congratulations on your purchase, the ASUS M51 series are an awesome buy for what you get. I've used one myself and the quality is much better than any other laptop I've owned (Acer, Dell, Toshiba). Why are you going to buy 2 sticks of 2GB RAM? The M51SN-B1 comes with 3GB of RAM which means 2GB + 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 inside. All you need to do is buy a single 2GB stick and replace the 1GB stick with it, for a total of 4GB (2GB x 2).

Shouldn't they be a matched pair for optimal efficiency?

Yup, thats why. I should see a major difference especially under Vista. Like i said. I want to optimize that laptops potential over time, not all at once.
