I recently bought a new Asus K53SD, installed drivers and everything as you do and all seemed to be going well. However, when I opened up Skyrim it was completely unplayable. It runs at about 4FPS, and I can't even move the mouse (jumps around every second or two rather than moving normally). I tried a number of different games but they all seem to have the same problem. I have tried re installing all the drivers but that didn't change anything. I am hoping not to do a fresh install but I guess I will if it comes to that.

    Specs:
    Processor: Intel core i7 2670QM 2.2GHz
    RAM: 12GB
    Graphics: GeForce 610M 2GB

Thanks in advance for any help.

Note: seems to run like a computer with no graphics drivers, however I have reinstalled the graphics drivers multiple times.

If the 610M shows up in your Device Manager, then the driver should have taken. Is it your Optimus? I'm not familiar with this model, so for all I know, it doesn't even utilize it; but if that's the case, then you'll need to adjust your power plan settings for performance, and make any changes in the NVidia control panel as necessary also, so that the system does not default to the HD 4000 graphics.

performance shouldn't be that bad unless you are playing it on battery mode not plugged in.

That's the thing, I know the drivers are installed correctly, I have gone into the manager and disabled the intel graphics card on all games, I have battery settings set to max and still no dice. Guess I'll just try a fresh install. Cheers for the help

I mean make sure you are playing games with AC plugged in not in battery mode.
