    Hi!

I bought that laptop last month and I wanted to upgrade both the RAM and the HDD. I wonder if I could plug in a 1600 MHz memory because I've seen that in places like that: KHX1600C9S3P1K2/8G - Kingston HyperX 8GB PC3-12800 204-pin SO-DIMM Kit memory upgrade for ASUS ASmobile K53 Series K53SV Notebook or Asus K53SV Laptop Memory Ram Upgrade :: Asus K53SV Ram Upgrade :: Offtek.co.uk, the Memory Superstore where it says that it can handles the PC3-12800. If I could, rather than buying 4GB of 1333 I would buy the whole set of 8 GB 1600.

On the other hand I wanted to buy an SSD to replace the current one I have and I thought in something like Corsair CSSD-F120GB3-BK Force Series 3 120GB Solid State Drive - Read 550MB/s, Write 510MB/s: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

I don't know if any of you guys have a similar laptop and can give me some advice.

    Thanks in advance!
    Carlos.

Hello! I have the same model, I think everything you want to to is possible although there are some things I would like to share with you...

Those Kingston memories are very good but I think they are even better for overclocking (which is not allowed in our model) also I think they would work perfect with your notebook but I think the manufacturer doesnt allow the use of memory which is above the 1333Mhz, recently i bought a kingston with a very good speed rate and the laptop works better. Also I think is very possible to use 16GB of memory instead of 8GB but the official website says is not possible (although Intel website says it is). Please tell me also about the HD you have now because the weak points of this model are the graphic card and the HD performance. Normal 8GB of memory (for me and this is my personal opinion) is enough.
