    Hello,

i need suggestion, i can't choose between two models:

    K53SV:
    i7-2670QM
    GT540M 1GB
    RAM 4GB
    500GB

    and

    K53SD:
    i7-2670QM
    610M 2GB
    RAM 4GB
    500GB

K53SV have faster GPU, but maybe asus solved some kind of problems in K53SD and they put slower GPU?
Or maybe i need to take i5?
    :D

    Hello Shanex-

The K53SV would be a better way to go in the video card department. The NVIDIA GeForce 610M is an entry level dedicated laptop graphics card and based on the same chip like the Geforce GT 520M or GeForce GT 520MX. So, the 540M is going to be a good amount better.

Here are some helpful links to check out:

I would say stick with the SV all around.

    Cheers!

Before buying either of those two, you might want to consider some other options first.

The main issue with both is that they have 1366x768-resolution displays. 15.6" 1366x768 displays make multitasking and productivity more difficult because they make things onscreen big, and they tend to have low contrast and poor image quality.

What looks to me to be the primary alluring factor to you about those computers is that they have i7 processors. But having a fast processor shouldn't be a high priority if you don't have a specific need for one. Gaming is bottlenecked primarily by the GPU, and everyday tasks render the difference between an i3 and an i7 irrelevant.

Consider instead the ASUS N53SM-ES72 or N53SV-DH51 (two of the currently-available N53's that have 1920x1080 displays)
    - Amazon.com: ASUS N53SM-ES72 15.6-Inch Laptop (Silver Aluminum): Computers & Accessories
    - Amazon.com: ASUS N53SV-DH51 15.6-Inch Full HD Versatile Entertainment Laptop (Silver Aluminum): Electronics

Both of these laptops provide essentially the same game performance as the K53SV.
