    hi everybody
i have done a fresh installation of windows 7 pro on my asus K53sc (europe model), i have installed all the drivers and the laptop worked fine
then i wanted to install back the hotkeys (ATKACPI driver and hotkey-related utilities) and the power4gear, and i get a really strange problem !!

when i press the G key a laptop picture with LCD writen under it showes in the center of the display !!

i uninstalled both of softwares and then the G key started to do a double bip sound when pressed, and of course in both cases it is impossible to use the G key to write G

i installed back the hot key function to see if it will solve this but now the G key make the dislay flash (go black then display again), and the weired think is that even on the bios i got the display flashing !!!!!

i had to do a windows repair to stock installation to have the G working back

then i thought it was the combo power4gear + ATKACPI driver and hotkey-related utilities the problem, so i installed only the ATKACPI driver and hotkey-related utilities and the problem was back :(

i did again a windows repair without succes, i was obliged to did a fresh install, now i don't know what to do to get the hotkeys and the G keys working together :(

pleas help me, since i know for the sony's laptop we have to install the drivers and software in a certain order, is it the same with asus ?

    thank you very much

Just as a wild troubleshooting suggestion - did you try uninstalling the keyboard driver, letting Windows reinstall the default driver? And update the chipset driver first, after your Windows 7 install?

If nothing works, then it may either be the keyboard itself, or the controller.

thank you for your suggestion, i managed to find a solution
the problem was with the ATK driver, the last version was the problem, i did the fresh install again and used the old ATK driver just to try and all worked fine !!!

so ASUS did a mistake with this driver, but it look like i'm the only the one having this issue (or no one used this new driver yet ! i don't think so )

anyway now all is working fine :)

can you pleas tel me if there is a dedicated topic for the K53/X53 seri, i can't find it, thank you
