Is it possible to upgrade the screen to a higher resolution? Preferably 1080p or something.

Looking into it. laptopscreen.com says they need the part number off the screen, which means physically removing it, in order to get compatible replacement screens. I won't do that though until I decide if I'm going to keep the K53TA or the DV6z.

I'd also love to know if you can get a 900 or 1080 screen on it.

if the connector is the same, and it's 15.6", it should work.

seeing that the k53ta uses 3 different lcd brands- CMO, LG, samsung, which are also used in other brand laptops..... no lcd screen is specific to the k53ta.

    I asked here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...grades/604668-inexpensive-15-6-lcd-1080p.html

Someone mentioned to check the motherboard and cable are both capable of dual channel LVDS. Whatever that means. I think it would be best to get the model of the screen and submit it to one of the screen sites to find one that's compatible, and at cheapest cost. Unless someone wants to be a guinea pig and try one of the B156HW01.
