Maybe the key is kind of rusted or jammed when you press half way down. Or maybe your circuit is broken. See if replacing the U key helps, go and consult Asus.

How is that possible...I just got this laptop 2 weeks ago - I think my fingernail might've dropped in there and its stuck under that key lol since I was clippin my nails before. Is there a way to remove the key and put it back?

You serious or just kidding? If you're serious, I wouldn't do it myself, I would find a professional. There is a high chance of snapping the key if you do it by yourself. BTW, did u spill any water in your notebook?

Yeah I'm serious..I didn't spill anything on my notebook, but I think something is stck nder the key becase I can hear it make a dif sound than the other keys when I press it. All the other keys sound soft but the U key makes a louder than other clickin noise and feels like something is under.

Get some compressed air from BestBuy/CircuitCity and see if you can blow it out using that... otherwise, prob ask your reseller for instructions on how to remove the keyboard..

Turn the laptop upside down and blow out the keyboard, preferrably with compressed air. It is possible to take the individual keys off, but depending on the keyboard, some break easily, others come off with difficulty, and some are hard to put on. I would suggest not pulling off a key if you've never done it before.

I myself have pulled each and every key off my old laptop. I clear-cloated the keys to give it a nice glossy effect to go with my paint job(took apart the whole lappy and spray-painted the chassis). While I didn't break any keys, it was a real pain to do all the work of getting them on and off.

If the nail doesn't come out at first, try blowing in a "criss-cross" pattern as suggested by some other poster on this forum. I think it was this forum... Meaning blow at the keys from different angles.

Oh, and don't trim your nails while using a laptop... please, for the laptop's sake.

Better yet, use a vacuum cleaner and try to suck whatever is stuck out of the keys. Better than blowing it further into the keyboard.

Try all the advice mentioned above especially the one with the vacuum.

Don't take this as advice... Its your fault if you damage it.
I have removed keys a few times from different laptops I have owned and haven't had any issues. I recently had something stuck under the 'T' key. I always take the key off by lifting the key from the bottom until it comes off. To replace back lay the key flat and press firmly until you hear a click/snap.

There is also a video somewhere showing how to fix the spacebar issue for the Sony SZ. The video shows the removal and replacement of the spacebar which maybe handy to look at.

Depends on the keyboard. Some are incredibly easy to remove, others are nigh impossible(my Z96 being on of those).

I would recommend compressed air over the vacuum because the vacuum probably won't have the suction power to move the blockage and get it out. A can of compressed air with a little straw on the end can get in and under the key. You just want enough power to dislodge the blockage.
