ok guys --- the w2jb performs smooth as ice...but the keyboard hotkeys are causing me some major head aches......
the problems:
1) cannot get my touchpad on\off button to work anymore....have reinstalled the ATK drivers and utility --- the problem seems to have begun after i used a usb wireless mouse --- but i never installed any drivers or software for that mouse, just plug and played it......
2) the hotkey button that changes the computers monitor\power settings between "super\high\etc....performace" gets stuck and the display notification that comes up in the upper left hand corner of the display gets frozen there....
bottom line guys....i have no clue what is going on..........
driver cleaning, reinstall, etc.....what is there to do?
-

It looks like there may be a corrupt install or a awkward conflict between P4G and Windows. When did this start happening?
-
not sure if all my reinstall attempts of the ATK stuff has caused more of a problem.... -
**bump**
is there no one....... -
I've heard of conflict between HControl and the new Intel Wireless Drivers, did you use the new version from Intel site or the default ones from ASUS?
-
so....suggestions? -
Uninstall the ATK utilities (ATK100, ATKCPI etc), try clean them from registry too.. might be some old registry settings kept...... boot in safe mode and install from there... see if that helps...
-
step by step would be much appreciated to this newb....... -
Sorry
- Start - Run : regedit
- go to HKEY_Local_Machine\Software
- Find ASUS/ASUSTek
- Under there see if anything related to ATK, delete it
And of course.. before you do any of this... back up your registry (File-Export in regedit) -
inside of "software" --- i see "ATK" and "ATK100" ---
but nothing of the ATK variety is in the asus or asustek folder/subfolders.....
should i delete those too? or leave those alone...
thanks again..... -
Yeah, those should be it, try deleting those. Remember, backup the registry before you do this.
