    hey im not sure of the exact model no of my laptop but i think its something like x50 or f50. well anyway, the fn key is on the bottom left with the ctrl key being where the fn key normally should be, is there any way at all to swap these keys around?

    Unfortunately, the Fn and Ctrl keys are BIOS locked, however you could try using a keyboard remapping software such as TradeKeys and see if that works out.
