Did I do something? This U46E-BAL5 is my first notebook but I've been building pc's for over a decade. I went to type in my PW after the machine had gone to sleep and this time the KB wouldn't respond. Only the Spacebar seemed to do anything. I couldn't access the Ease of Access button either. I finally took the battery out for a few seconds and reinstalled it which seemed to work. Everything is normal now.

I tried the Fn key, Scroll lock, NmLk, everything I could think of but nothing worked except removing the battery. So, did I punch an errant key and lock myself out or did the machine hiccup?

That sounds like a bit of a hiccup. Is this a consistent thing or was this the only time it has happened?

Yeah, I wouldn't be too concerned about it myself if it just happened the once. If it becomes a consistent issue it may be a problem with some of your settings and hardware. Keep an eye on it and let us all know if it becomes a problem.
