I'm wondering is it possible to upgrade my processor T2500 of my W3J to a low voltage like L7400 (1.5Ghz, 667 mhz). What are the benefits? is it a big difference, in terms of battery life. I'm currently using NHC, I undervolted my laptop down to 1.5 Ghz but the power consumption is between 25 to 29 watts, not that much of a difference.I don't know any figures in terms of power consumption, but i read on a site that low-voltage merom (L7200 and L7400) consumes only half, around 15 watts compared to current merom on the market, 30 watts. Is it worth upgrading my processor??? If it is yes, where can i ind these processors in the market, any site specifically thats selling LV and ULV Merom.

It will not work with a LV processor as your computer is designed for the 'regular' processor chip. In order to use LV or ULV processors the PC has to be specifically designed for them. If the L7400 is a Santa Rosa processor (I'm not sure) that is another problem and then you have two major issues getting it to work. Either way, won't happen.

Have you tried cutting back the power consumption of the video card using the ATI tool in NHC? That's where a big part of your usage is now after you've undervolted the cpu.

Keep in mind, upgrading the cpu voids your remaining warranty on the notebook, if you have any left.
