Hey everyone, Ive been browsing the forums here for quite a while, and wasn't able to find the answers I was looking for, so I figured, why not just ask? :p

So I've got a G50Vt-X5 (as you've probably guessed) and well, I'm looking for a replacement LCD display.

I know it needs to be 15.6" and 16:9 aspect ratio so therefore I figured my best bet would be a 1080p LCD. The problem is, I've looked everyone in these forums and I have yet to see a confirmation of someone swapping to a 1080p LCD.

Would one of these be compatible:

Also relating to upgrades, Would it be possible to Swap the stock G50 keyboard with a G51 back-lit keyboard. I'm not too concerned about keyboard dimension but the keyboard "plug"/interface on the motherboard. It would be sick to have a back-lit keyboard.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and please respond any opinions are appreciated. :)

Bump. Opinions needed before I'm gonna spend 230 bucks on a swap no one has confirmed. After doing a little more digging it looks like I need to make sure the new screen is CCFL back-lit. The LCDs I posted are LED back-lit, so that could cause problems.

Well first of all, the lcd panel in the g50vt is a 15.4" 16:10 display, so i don't think the ones you mentioned would work.
Perhaps one of these would work although i don't know if the connector is the same.
