Hey everyone, Ive been browsing the forums here for quite a while, and wasn't able to find the answers I was looking for, so I figured, why not just ask?![]()
So I've got a G50Vt-X5 (as you've probably guessed) and well, I'm looking for a replacement LCD display.
I know it needs to be 15.6" and 16:9 aspect ratio so therefore I figured my best bet would be a 1080p LCD. The problem is, I've looked everyone in these forums and I have yet to see a confirmation of someone swapping to a 1080p LCD.
Would one of these be compatible:

Also relating to upgrades, Would it be possible to Swap the stock G50 keyboard with a G51 back-lit keyboard. I'm not too concerned about keyboard dimension but the keyboard "plug"/interface on the motherboard. It would be sick to have a back-lit keyboard.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and please respond any opinions are appreciated.![]()

Bump. Opinions needed before I'm gonna spend 230 bucks on a swap no one has confirmed. After doing a little more digging it looks like I need to make sure the new screen is CCFL back-lit. The LCDs I posted are LED back-lit, so that could cause problems.

Well first of all, the lcd panel in the g50vt is a 15.4" 16:10 display, so i don't think the ones you mentioned would work.
Perhaps one of these would work although i don't know if the connector is the same. -
I have a G50vt-X5, it is 15.6" for all X5 and X1 models.
The other models have the 15.4" display. Take a look for youself.

Then how would you explain these product details:

Look at it. That isn't the X5. If You've seen one you would know it looks like this

Newegg is wrong. That laptop is the X6.
Stop trying so hard to say I'm wrong and just Google Asus G50Vt-X5 LOOK:
