    Hello all [IMG]

I have a laptop from my friend to fix it.
I just wonder what is this kind of artifacts which one I uploaded.

    GPU artifacts:

    http://s722.photobucket.com/user/macatphotobucket/media/1_zpsidukp4wu.jpg.html

It's happen on Laptop N76VB which one has got two graphics cards.

Intel GPU HD 4000 works fine but Nvidia Geforce GT 740M shows some artifacts.

    It has also:
    CPU: intel core i7-3630QM
    Memory: 8GB RAM DDR3 (2x 4GB modules)
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bits

    GPU specs: http://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/2310/geforce-gt-740m.html

Nvidia GPU shows artifacts all the time when is in use. Even at nvidia preview as you can see in the picture.
Temperature is below 50C and when gaming around 65C. Games work fine but show many white and black dots/squares moving everywhere. But performance and quality are still very good. No freezes or overheating.
I changed thermal compound for arctic one.
I tried diagnose it and I reflowed gpu by hot air rework station but no changes.
I also reinstalled system to windows 7 64bit but no help at all.
New drivers and older one won't help either.
I checked RAM 2x modules of 4GB RAM by memtest86. I removed one and another to check if it's any faults but all work fine.
It's not overclocked but I tried downclock it to see any result but nothing happend.
It has been checked by Furmark over 30 min and no error or even artifacts...
I guess if it's something wrong with VRAM but I don't know how to test it. VMT (video memory test) stress test doesn't work and I don't know why.
I checked it also on external monitor but still same problem.

I couldn't find similar artifacts by googling it so my last chance is asking you guys.

I believe it's faulty nvidia GPU and needs reballing or change BGA for new one but maybe it's something else...

    Any advise, please.

Btw. I apologize for my english [IMG]

Have you tried lowering the core clock or memory clock to see if that has an impact? If the memory is faulty replacing the core wont help.

When you say furmark had no issues was that the IGP or the 740m?

All tests has been done for GF gt740m. Furmark shows no any artifacts but 3dMark shows a lot of them. Intel gpu works perfect.

Furmark may be throttling down (the drivers detecting it opening) and going to a different clock state.
