I have a V1JP and use my computer processor to the max. Reached 80C trying to render 3D images.

Is there an efficient way of cooling the laptop so i can render safely? (without taking the cover off)

I have seen laptop cooler stations on ebay which consist of 2-3 fans, are they any good?

Chaz will probably have some good recommendations, but you might want to look at the Vantec Piano Notebook Cooler...at least that is what I think it's called.

Yes thats about the best and easiest thing you can do to lower your temps.

I recommend a Lian-Li cooling base as they have 2-3 multidirectional fans, are made of Aluminum so they are quite solid, and are decently priced.

they are out of stock but can be found elsewhere on the net.

Given the chassis and what you were doing, however, it was likely a normal temp at the time. I wonder how much you'll get with external cooling when you're doing rendering, stressing the CPU at high levels? Let us know.

Lian-Li makes a beautiful cooling pad that not only looks good, but also performs well and would look great with your V1 as well. Now, with that said, I think your temps are well within normal range while doing renderings, and honestly you don't "need" to keep it cooler.... it's not going to help extend its life or increase performance....... now if the numbers were up in the low 100's doing the same thing, I'd say you've got a problem and a cooling pad would help, but in this case I'd say it's only going to help you in terms of how hot it feels if it's on your lap or something. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother.

Cheers Guys for your repsonses, and its good to know reaching 80 is not critical. Which is a better cooler: Lian Li or Cooler Master?
