    Hey there,

I'm really thinking about buying an N70 with the price being around $1100USD.

I was just curious as to how price drops occur with Asus laptops, do they usually sell for the same price for a while when they first come out or do they drop relatively fast?

    Thanks,

    Charles

P.S. Does anyone currently own an N70 or know links to any reviews of it, I can't seem to find any.

Asus rarely lowers their price, but they do offer rebates for older models in older to make room for the newer models. The N70 won't see any significant price drops in the near future.

On the same subject, what effect do you anticipate with the Q2 release of Montevina plus? Do you think that there will be a different effect on the OP's N70, or the W90 that I'm looking at?

Asus just upgrades the internal components for model xx, changes the last letters of the model identifier so you know what's in it, and the price remains at or very near the pre-upgrade price of xx. It's been that way for years - no reason to expect them to change now.

Also, Asus in the past has rarely been at the forefront of upgrades when it comes to chipset upgrades (cpu or gpu, that's different), so don't expect the upgraded models to be right at Intel's release date as they're usually 3-6 weeks later.
