Just got this laptop like three days ago. But the laptop makes a faint beep noise. The noise is made when I plug in the USB hub. So then I decided to take of the usb hub and just plug in the wireless mice receiver and the noise came back. Now when I plug in the Webcam there is no noise. However, when I take everything off there is a very faint rhythm of long beeps. Please let me know what the problem so I can fix it. I really like this laptop but I have issues with the beeps

    This is what I have: Asus U35JC-A1, 13.3" @ 1366X768, i3-370m @ 2.4GHz, 4 GB RAM, Geforce 310m/Intel HD (Optimus), 500GB 5400RPM HDD

    Thank you.

Patterns of ' beep ' noises usually refer to motherboard codes..

If it didn't happen before you pluged in the USB hub. Then something isn't right.. Powered USB? pluged into USB port damaged the part of motherboard.. OR it simply is a bug in the driver? or it is a defect.

Since you " Just got this laptop " Depending on where you got it from, I would :

    1) return if you can get another.. via full refund - repurchace,
    2) if they wish to warranty it .. call Asus.. Meaning if you purchaced it say Best Buy ( don't think they sell this ? ) they ( best buy ) would go to the geek squad and trouble shoot.. - but it's 3 days old.. give me a new one!.. therefore refund repurchace.. IF not, Then Call ASUS explaining this.. Best bet, Refund and repurchace... Amazon is good for this .. just call em.. say here is my issue.. listen, put the phone to the unit.. repeat sound.. : did you hear that?.. then they will rma and send another no problems.

If you get another, do NOT do that again :p
Something seems wrong. Maybe it is a powered USB hub you pluged in to your unit that damaged something to do with a USB port and the ' beep ' is a paticular code notifying you it is now damaged or malfunctioning.

I would reinstall the driver for the USB port, or even do a full windows install and drivers?

All depends on how far you want to go on attempting to fix ~vs~ it being 3 days old and you refunding it for a new purchace.
