Last week we got in the final five V6va's that Asus had in US... four of them went pretty quickly and I was holding trying to hold one for a forum member. I gave them plenty of time and at this point - first one to get it, gets it.... I can't hold it for ever and we can only continue to hold out "one more day" for so long..

... so, it's the last of it's kind w/ IPS screen in the US (unless of course someone else still physically has stock - which is doubtful), and it also has a $100 rebate. I've told some of those who inquired about them that they were all gone.... well I let's just say all by one.

Oh, man! (*drool*) Someone's got to grab this! Wish it could be me, I want an ASUS so badly, but I'm waiting until I absolutely need one (or I break down :p ). From what I've heard, the IPS screens are amazing!

just a question, how many more IPS panels does ASUS N. America have, in case I wanted a ZBD or dead pixel replacement? I'm assuming they'll give me a new IPS panel, and not the other variety.

I got one last week from a West Coast dealer. This is one fantastic system. If you can do it...do it fast as it is in my opinion a better system than the V6J which replaces it...IMHO.

    Why's that Justin?

Wow so that's what a high resolution normal ratio screen looks like. IPS right? Niiiiiiiice.

I'm stuck on widescreen though, I just love it except for certain games that stretch out. Even still, the extra width is just great.

Darn why can't I win the lottery, I'd pick one up off you in a second Justin, haha.

There's a reflection in the top.... and the bottom seems washed out.... I'm not saying the screen is bad....... just the photographs.... it's hard to take a photo of a screen properly because you need to take it without a flash, on a tripod and in a specific manual mode to have a shot at even making them look "pretty good"....... that's all. Typcially, even if you do take the perfect shot, unless you could show the settings used, no one could duplicate it... so the best thing to do would be to take a shot next to say a "common screen"... some computer everyone has either seen or could go see at a local store.... something to show the contrast.

Very true, so hard to take a good photo of a screen in action.

theyre the same screen. i'm not a professional photographer, but i'd say those shots show off the screen clarity and color quite nicely...

I'm not dissing you or anything....... but you should have a little more faith in your system than that.... those pictures don't show off that screen that well. If I were looking at those pictures and wasn't using a V6va while doing so.... I'd think they were pretty good, but not the best.... Honestly, the pictures don't look that far off of how the V6j looks in real life... but the IPS screen on the V6va does look better than that.... don't sell it short :)

I was gonna do a screen comparison between a PowerBook(G4) and the V6va, but didn't get a chance to. If only there was a really good way to compare the screen, besides in person of course :)

    And it's Fate/Stay Night :)
