The W3A gets the Intel 915 with integrated video. That sucks! I hope the whitebox model allows for a different video option.

If these specs are true, and I suspect they are, then it will be the new integrated intel gpu in the W3A. The review of the V6V over at anandtech suggests that since the specs for this gpu are very similar to the desktop one that benchmarks will probably be the same, that is around a ATI9000, Geforce 5200. This is much better then the old extreme, but it aint no 9700 or X700/800.

Exactly... I just don't think the US is going to get that model... however since they don't even know what they can order yet, they can't say what they will order. The W3 in a lot of ways fits the slot that the current M3 is in. The M3 has integrated video, so it does make sense... However, I think going integrated with the 915 chipset is going downgrading from the current model out in the Asian market. We'll see.

According to my sale rep. in one of the biggest Asus vendors in Canada, she will get the information of the upcoming notebooks in the early February.

So has there been an offical release date for any of these new 2005 models?

Very interested in the W5000... Been looking for a really compact notebook. Just based on the specs they look more promising then the
    Fujitsu P7010.

Just a word of advice for Canadians... they usually get stuff atleast a month after we do. I've seen it over atleast the last two years with both the pocket pcs and notebooks... I've never seen them get anything even close to release time.

No, I mean that's how it's always been.... Everything that goes to Canada, still comes through California... which means it also has to pass through another border.
