    My A8jp should arrive tomorrow.

    What is the latest stable bios and what is the latest driver for the x1700?

    Anything else I need to do besides take off the bloatware and convert the drive to NTFS?

    This is my first laptop, thanks in advance.

    Check support.asus.com for your model.

    Don't go headfirst into updates just for the sake of updating though, check if you really need them.
