Hi guys, I'm planning on getting an Asus M6BNe (15.4" WXGA, Pentium 735, Radeon 9700, etc.) soon. I was just wondering: is it safe to leave it on at night? Possibly even for several days?

I generally leave my desktop on for days at a time, downloading and hosting my webpage and stuff. I've heard that the laptop can get pretty hot, so would it be a problem?

Also, the salesperson told me that the FSB speed with the Dothan is 533MHz. I looked around but I couldn't find any verification on that :/ Can anybody tell me if this is true?

    Thanks a lot! :D

you can leave it on safely, but it's always good to reboot now and again mostly due to the OS and software related issues and not hardware related issues. Heat will easily dissapate if you're not actually using the notebook, heat is a factor of the use you are giving a notebook in a short time span and how well its fan works/how cool the room is/how well the notebook is designed to dissapate heat and not how long the notebook is on.

    the FSB is 400MHz.

I have often leave my M6Ne on for days and have had no problems so far ! But like abaxter mentioned I also like to turn it off every few days for a reboot and a cool down just in case.

Oh and the sales assistant is speaking silly. You won't see a 533FSB until the next PM is released, which intel just delayed.
