The GL702VM is a higher end device ranging from 1300 to 1500$ - the Y520 is an 800$ machine. Really, there is not base for comparison. Out of the 2, the Strix is simply better.

Maybe you mean Legion Y720 vs GL702VM. Or the Legion Y520 vs the GL753VE. That would be a much more fair comparison.

Depends on local prices. For example, the 7567 here competes against the GL502VM cause Dell's stuff carries a premium due to import costs. -
Was referring more to the hardware. Afaik the Y520 has a GTX 1050 /1050Ti. The GL702VM has a GTX 1060. The first one is just a 900$ machine, the second one is a 1300$. So it would be probably best to compare it with the GL753VE which has almost the same specs and price (1000$).

Again, that's MSRP - local prices can be wildly different. The Dell 7567 retails for 1100$ in it's base config locally. In contrast, the Y520 retails for around 750$ here. He's probably going off of local pricing.
