My new G2P has installed lightscribe disc labeling in the start menu and on the desktop, the problem is that Nero Info tool tells me that my burner doesn't have lightscribe? Who Asus put software on a laptop for lightscribe even if the burner doesn't have it?
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

What drive is it? You could just delete it.

These G series have a OS image that is installed on every PC regardless of version so it's possible that you got a version that dosen't actually have a lightscribe drive in it even if the software appearse on the machine. -
The Drive is:
HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T10N
I don't think that it has Lightscribe, nothing on the drive itself says so. -

Do some models of the G2P come with a Lightscribe burner? If so, I think Asus took the easy route and installed the Lightscribe software in case it was needed. In your case it is not needed.

Sorry but this drive does not have Lightscribe.
I understand how this can be VERY Misleading when Asus throws in their bundle software and the first thing people see is that Lightscribe icon, thinking they can utilize it.
Asus should remove that bundle of software because it is misleading to customers, there was a thread about this a while ago. You can always check here or the spec sheet before trying to lightscribe.
Lightscribe or no Lightscribe??
