I have noticed most notebooks only provide headphone-out.
Any way to turn the A2500D headphone-out into a standard line-out?
It's compulsory if you want to connect your computer to your stereo.

    Thanks.

All you need is the right audio cable, Radio Shack sells 'em and so do many other places. The adapter cable has the 1/8" mini-stereo plug on one end and a pair of RCA plugs on the other end.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your answer.

Unfortunately line-out is 0.7V, headphone-out is (obviously) variable voltage. I know there are conversion cables available (Sony makes one) that kind of force the signal down to 0.7V.

I'm talking about really enabling headphone-out. On most PC sound cards, either you've got both plugs or there is a jumper on the sound card to enable/disable line-out. I believe some systems allow you to do that through the BIOS or via a simple utility in Windows.

Furthermore, if you look carefully in the DMI explorer in Asus Probe, you will see that there IS a "Line-out" node (BTW, I have got a Asus A2500D ).

    Any ideas?

I am also curious about this as well. I am getting a M6BN and wouldn't mind outputting my music to my stereo once in a while
