As anybody succeeded on hibernating in linux (Ubuntu) with an Asus A6k ??

I have tried everything I could find so far (1 month) on Internet with no success.

    Cheers

I had A6Km two years back (for six months). It was the worst laptop I'v ever had. I think there were no chance to succes because of very bad BIOS implementation.

    Swarn,
I was starting thinking that the A6k family is not so Linux friendly and your answer just confirms it.

    Let's hope somebody succeeded.

    Thanks

A6K is very Linux-unfriendly. For example: linux boot problems with enabled ACPI and connected USB devices.

Yep! Never forget the USB key in when you restart !

I guess I am doomed then.
I have got in the past Toshiba, Sony (maybe the worst) and this Asus.
I should maybe go back to Toshiba ( I see you owned a lot of them) or try Acer.

    Regards

    Never say never !!
Indeed, playing with pm-hibernate and the related config files I got it.

Actually my big mistake was to press ctrl+alt+F1 when resuming to see the messages but then the video was stuck on the console and not being able to switch to X.

Leaving the resume doing its job undisturbed made the trick.
Now I have only to find out how to assign the pm-hibernate to the Fn+F1 key combination.

    Cheers
