Has anyone put linux (I use ubuntu) on their V6j? If so, how did you get the wireless network working?

To the original poster, this is probably the wrong forum for that topic.
However i found your topic in the Linux forums and replied to it. -
For what it's worth. I am running Redhat Enterprise on Virtual Machine with VMware. It does everything I need it to do and more. The beauty of this setup is I don't have to muck around with wireless setting, bluetooth setting, etc. Linux in the virtual machine inherits all the network connection by default. So, I can use my wireless and bluetooth mouse without having to deal with installing drivers in linux. I love it.

im using ubuntu in my v6v. If your wlan card is a 2915 series its not a problem. You only need to config synaptic to the ethernet portand connect internet, download the driver for intel wlan 2200g or in terminal app -get etc... (i dont remember the command
sorry, if u wanna know post the question) and its done. I know its strange but the driver for 2200 & 2915 chips are the same in linux.

I fired up an Ubuntu Live CD on my V6j a while ago, and I decided that now isn't a good time to try to get everything working (I have about 21 hours of tests next week, covering about 6 years of stuff), but I think I decided that the sound and network (wireless, I didn't try the wired, it might not be working). I plan to try the new version of Ubuntu in June (late) and see what I get working then.

You need to download and compile the drivers from www.realtek.com.tw for the network drivers (wired). Also, download the wireless drivers from www.intel.com.
