I had just finished an error check on my W3J and it then proceeded to emitt a long continious beep. anyone know what that was? I turned it off and on again, and it works now, but I am slightly worried, anyone else encounter this? or know what caused it?

If it's working now, maybe you just had a temporary bad connection between the battery and some contact ("Long continuous beep tone - Power supply bad or not plugged into motherboard correctly"). Pay attention to the exact beeps in the future, should you (hopefully never) hear them again.

I have refered to those already.... having an asus laptop, do the IBM beep codes still apply? and if they do then its a Power supply, system board, or keyboard problem. what does that mean then? any thoughts, shouls I be worried

It's for IBM-compatible computers, i.e. PCs, as opposed to say, Macintosh computers.

The beep codes varies depeding on the MB brand, not on the PC brand.

Like Brett said, if it's just a one-time thing, forget about it.
