So I haven't been to active here in the past few months, waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy too many things grabbed my attention. But it dawned on my today that I've had my C90 for a year now. It's been everything I hoped it would and has been the best computer I've ever owned (not saying too much though...).

It seems that despite being an unfinished product on the engineering side of things and a bit of a step-child in the Asus...nay, the computer world, I've grown attached to the little guy and can't see myself not using him in the future. I've had my share of problems with it like everyone else and with thelatest generation of mobile processors it seems that the Conroe is no longer lording over all other laptops with a 1ghz FSB fist of awesome. But it has also come to my attention that with the whole 8-series fiasco that perhaps nvidia is to blame for some of this. I kinda hope so, it might explain why we never got any upgrades past the ddr3 8600 which was also declared an engineering mistake and might also have been a red flag to the 8-series issues. Even without that though, I still found this laptop to be excellent and I would really like to purchase something like it i the future.

Hopefully Asus will wakeup and see what a winner they could have if only they gave it a chance like the few of us who are out there. It's wishful thinking I know but hey, I can dream can't I?

I'd also like to post my opinion here on the whole fiasco as a user of the nvidia product: ahem..*clears throat*...*cough* *cough*...

    THIS IS WHY ATI EXISTS!!!!!!!!

While crudely delivered I would like to helpfully point out that probably the only reason why this is becoming big news is because there is someone else to order parts from. If not for ATI's existence nvidia would probably just say "tough luck, we made a mistake but not much you can do about it so just take what we give you even if it sucks". Now hopefully they will do something to correct their mistakes, whatever those mistakes may be. I don't think any of us know the full extent of what's affected and no one knows for sure how this will all be resolved but I can promise you one thing - If it turns out my C90 has been suffering because of nvidia's mistake and they don't correct what ahs been wronged I will go out of my way to avoid nvidia products cause god bless the free market system!

i share the same sentiments. overall, its a good machine. With all the headaches and tweaking we all had to do to get it working right, the mods, the troubleshooting... etc. etc. Its an experience that would truly be remembered. lol. I just really hope that they could provide us with some upgrades... that would be sweet.
