    Hi all,

I'm looking for a 14" laptop and Asus seems to be a good choice. I'm a little overwhelmed at all the models Asus has though...what are the best 14" models?

Here's what I plan on doing with the laptop:
email, internet, flash web design, photoshop, dreamweaver, movies, music, light gaming

    Thanks for any info!

The ASUS N80VN-C1 would be a good option if you're looking at doing some light gaming but yet want excellent performance. This is Asus's newest 14" notebook.

    thanks guys, much appreciated!

Do all their 14" lappies run at 1200X800? I would really like a little higher res.

Their older laptops run at 1440, but they are outdated. The n80vn is your best bet. If you feel like waiting a few more weeks, the refresh for the n80vn, the n81vp, may come out. The n81 has a faster ATI 4600 series GPU, but not much more is known.

Also, a 14" screen with 1280 x 800 resolution has roughly the same dots per inch of a 15" screen with 1440 x 900 resolution, so it's really not that low.

The new n80 series comes with 1280x800. The older f8Va series comes with 1440x900. You can still find it...
