Im looking to see ALL Asus notebooks under 6lbs that have similar or these specs:

    1.8-2.0GHZ Yonah/Merom Dual Core Processor
    1GB-2GB RAM
    60GB+ 7200RPM HDD
    Windows XP Pro
    256-512mB Nvidia Geforce 7600 Go / ATi Radeon X1600
    3+ Hrs of battery life

Ive been looking at the Asus A8JM and the W3J, but I dont know whats the cons of these models. Any other models? I want to make a list before i break them down.

That's about it, the A8ja is the A8jm with an x1600, but avaliable only in UK/Asia.

    Theres also the V1j.......soon....maybe....

Anyone have any insight to the differences between the W3J and the A8JM. They seem nearly identical.
    The W3J uses ATI Radeon X1600 256MB
    The A8JM uses NVidia GeForce Go7600 512MB
The A8JM has a DVI output and the W3J does not
    The A8JM is .4 lbs (.19kg) heavier than W3J
    The A8JM is about $1499
    The W3J is about $1799

So what are you getting for the extra $300 of the W3J? Just a slighly lighter laptop missing DVI?

That what professorchaos means, it will be refitted with merom in all due time. If not, they probably will make a new model.

    Do you prefer:
    Built on Asus or Ensemble?
    Widescreen, standard?
    Large screen, small screen?
    Budget, premium?

By Grainy, is it a troublesome issue or a nitpicky issue that doesnt really matter?

Also, i want my screen size to be 15.4" or under, standard preferable but not needed, ill take widescreen also. Also, My budget is $2k, so i would like to see all under that price.

I take it you've looked at the V6J then? It's a 15" standard ratio notebook, but it's weight is comparable to many 14" models. It only has the go7400 GPU, but this is perfectly adequate for occasional gaming and it's less power hungry... important if you're after reasonable battery life.

Oh, and it's absolutely gorgeous too. :)
