These are the 13"/14" Asus notebooks currently available.

    For 13": F6VE-B1
    For 14": N81Vp-C1, K40IJ-A1, K40IN-A1, and F80Q-A1

Depending on what your needs and preferences are, it's hard to say which one would suit you the best. I recommend you fill out the FAQ on the "What notebook to buy?" forum so we can better understand your situation.

Your Dell XPS M1330 is dying, because it probably has one of those defective Geforce 8400M GS graphics cards. You're making the right choice going for ASUS, as they're on top for reliability and service (North America). I would also suggest either a ASUS F6 Series or a ASUS N81. It would be useful if you could provide a price range and what you plan to be using the notebook for, but the two above options are pretty much your best options for a ASUS 13 and 14 inch laptop.

Just a note, instead of generic stores such as NewEgg I would recommend an ASUS reseller such as those listed in the Info Booth. You get better service and possibly also slightly lower prices and better warranty.

The Geforce 8400M GS uses G86 architecture which along with the G84 chips are defective, as stated by Nvidia last year. The problem is due to bad soldering on these chips which leads to overheating and ultimately the failing of the graphics card. Once the graphics card stops functioning, the problem can be temporarily fixed by baking the GPU in an oven in order to fix the soldering issue, but eventually the card will die again. Plus your Dell XPS M1330 dosn’t have a MXM removable graphics so that means you’d have to take apart the entire laptop and bake the whole motherboard. This can be done only a few times around, as there are safety hazards in baking electronic products, since they contain dangerous/lethal chemicals in them while being placed inside an oven you eat from.

Anyhow, we went a little off-topic there, but I think you're better off buying a new laptop. :)

Both the N81Vp-C1 and F6Ve-B1 have an Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @2.66Ghz, but the N81Vp-C1 has a faster Geforce GT 120M which is basically a slightly overclocked Geforce 9600M GT which at any rate is faster than the ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4570 inside the F6Ve-B1. So yes, that would be the better choice. :)

^^ Assuming that you're more into gaming than portability. ;)

OP, please keep your replies to multiple post within the same post, rather than making consecutive posts. You can use the "MultiQuote" button for that.
