My dad's is broken and he's looking for a new one. He's more than capable of replacing it himself if necessary so I'm trying to find him someplace to buy a new screen.

I've found this and this but the prices differ so much so I'm guessing one is the lcd panel, one is the whole hinged top.

Does anyone have some suggestions? I've seen on here in the past a link to a vendor like..laptopdisplays.com or something similar. I can't remember or find it now though.

    Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Also want to ask, what is the manufacturer of the screen?

I think you're looking for this thread here.

The manufacturer of your first linked LCD is LG-Philips.

Ching-Mei and AUO are major suppliers of notebook LCD screens to OEMs, but different vendors' LCDs can appear in even within the same model line depending on who is supplying the contract that month to Asustek/Pegatron.
