    Hi,

New laptop user here (just recently bought my G74Sx).

I am looking for something to help me monitor system temperatures. According to the Utility and Bloatware guide, NB Probe should have been able to help, but I couldn't find it on my system nor on the recovery disk. And it's not on the download list for this model on the Asus website as well.

So I am hoping you guys can direct me to a good utility for my purpose that would be compatible with my notebook. And where I can get it.

    Thanks.

Thanks for your guidance. I went with HWiNFO64 but now am a bit lost.

This is what I can see:

If you launch the app try sensors only. Good idea to look at Intel CPU temps 33 !!(yours are excellent) and below the smart (also in sensor status) you will see temps for your GPU. (at idle they should be well below 50 celcius)

I think I got the GPU one but which one of all those is the one for the CPU?

    Edit:
Oh and what are tolerable levels of temperatures when the GPU is not idle?

If you are looking for casual, always on top notification, addgadget.com has nice gadgets, for cpu(gets temp reading from coretemp) and gpu temperatures.

Also i use MSI afterburner and its on-screen display, as it can show you the temperature during games, be sure to take the 520 version
