Hi all, I am looking to buy into a c90s, and I had a couple of questions. First, I have 2x1GB that I have been using for my Asus A8JP, and I was wondering if this RAM would be compatible to use with the c90s. Second, I have decided to either order from btotech or gentech, but noticed that btotech doesn't offer any options for thermal compound for the GPU and CPU. Is the extra thermal compound really needed?

Most likely, your ram from the A8JP won't be compatible. You'll have to check the brand and model of each module. If you're planning on purchasing the C90S from a reseller like btotech or gentech, i'd go ahead and just buy the ram from them since there are so many incompatible ram out there that causes stability issues. These resellers will guarantee that you get the correct ram and save you the hassle scrounging for a particular brand and model.

As for the thermal compound, it's not essential that you use AS5, but I'd recommend it. You usually shave off a few degrees C and every bit of cooling will help preserve your c90s and keep it overheating.

I think you can just buy AS5 and replace the original thermal compound, after the purchase? Since C90 is barebones, you should be able to open the heatsinks without voiding the warranty -- correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah it wont void the warrenty, and for the ram, while it will work with some 800mhz ram it will never run at that speed (atleast for now) so go the stanard 667mhz ram.

The RAM I have right now is G.Skill DDR2 667 pc2-5300 so-dimm. Any chance that someone out there has the same?
