I just received my G1S and looking to adjust the sizes of both partitions. Instead of the 50/50 split it comes with, I'd like to make it more like a 30/70 split. I plan on keeping the OS, games, and programs in the C drive while data, pictures, music, downloads, etc are in the D drive.

As I understand it I can use Vista to "shrink" the C drive. Now with the unallocated space (that removed from C) can I increase the D drive or does it have to be converted into a separate partition other than C or D?

    Thanks

Partitionning, if a OS-installed partition is used, must be made while you install the OS as far as I know...

You can expand the D: partition fine in vista. I did it on my desktop raid with no trouble

But you can't touch the partition with the OS installed on

In Vista you can resize the active os partition. I just did to make myself a 40 gig partition on my laptop

Smart guy, if the first thing you are worried about is partition after receiving your comp. Thats the first thing i did as well on my G2S. My 160 gb says same 149GB.
I have tried tried tried and TRIED no luck with windows built in Disk administration. If you have vista you are gona run into trouble. Try it anyway i doubt it that this will work. Right click on my computer. Manage and then disk management on far left bottom. Microsoft claims that this will take care of all the partitioning needs that one has. In reality vista due to its aggressive page file system will not allow you to do the partitioning EXCEPT a certain amount such as 20 gb only.
I had to buy Paragon Partition Manager to do it. Even the X Partition Magic is not working with vista. Here is the link to the software.
    http://www.partition-manager.com/

There is another utility in command prompt called DSKPART with bunch of different switches. I tried that as well but of no use.

haha.. I clicked the zepto 14.1" link and I was like wtf why are they talking about partitions on a Asus G1s, do they not know its a thread for areview. I second the notion that the asus g1s ppl are slowly trying to take over the world by taking nonchalantly about their kick**s machines "o blah blah partitions"
