    Hello,

I started having this problem a a couple of weeks ago. THis is the second time it has happened. Sporadically( 2 weeks in between occurances) I will be using the computer ussually surfing the internet and I will start to hear a loud clicking noise(not faint, something that can be heard about 10-15 feet away) the computer will then freeze and I will get a blue screen. The last error I got "kernel data inpage error".
Can anyone think of what this could be? I'm thinking not good and I willl be sending this back to Asus?

I downloaded and am in the process of running that diagnostic. I take it if ran the error scan and I see a red box(damaged) that the hard drive is shot? Or could it be something else.

error at 15763 MB LBA 32283606, is the error message. There also are warnings for reallocated sector count and pending sectors.

does hdtune not show it in the select drive box, it might just be a drive model number if so you can google it to find out the make or just post it here.

Thanks for the help! I downloaded seatools and fixed a bad sector and the problem has gone away for now. Also the bootup is much faster and does not fail(as happened frequently before).
    Thanks for the help!
