    Hi

I recently bought and replaced a malfuncioning inverter on my M3np and the backlight now works fine.

My quesion is whether I messed up on the installation.

The inverter came with a piece of clear yellowish tape extending from the right end of the transformer to the right end. I am not sure if this tape serves some function or if it presents a potential problem due to heat, etc generated by the inverter.

In short: Should I have removed this piece of tape? Do I need to?

Here is the url with the image:

    Thanks in advance

Don't worry about the tape too much it's just there to shield things a bit from heat. You can leave it or take it off, it doesn't matter really.

Thanks for the reassurance and saving me from doing a second surgery ...The "patient" is getting on in years (as is the surgeon) and surgery is risky :))
