Ok, I'm considering getting an M50vm. This is going to be my first laptop, so bear with me, I don't know much about them.

    1) About the keyboard lag. I've read that disabling the touchpad through the BIOS solves it. However, after doing that, can I still use the touchpad. As in, does it disable the touchpad completely or just the "mode" functuion?

    2) I'll most probably get it from newegg. Now, suppose something goes wrong, but it's within warranty. Do I have to send it to newegg or Asus?

    3) On newegg, some buyers said the "screen refresh rate is stuck at 18 hertz, so it's all laggy". If this happens, how would I fix it? Some sent it back, some used drivers, but they didn't specify which.
    Thanks.

    2. All warranty work is done by Asus, and be aware that NewEgg has a non-refundable payment policy for all notebook purchases.

Yeah read up on all the policies. Thanks for answering.

    Anyone else can answer 1 & 3?

    1. Disabling the touchpad in the BIOS loses all touchpad functionality. However there is a better fix than fully disabling the touchpad (AFAIK). Remove the Synaptics drivers, and let Windows install its own drivers. Touchpad use is retained and the lag should disappear.

I'm not familiar with problem #3.
