Hey, for some reason, under my network connections, my wired network connection is no longer there. I've tried going into device manager and seeing if anything is in there and couldnt find anything. I tried reinstalling the drivers and that didnt work either. Anyone have any ideas?

Try uninstalling your current network driver before installing them. Also try download the newer drivers from the Asus if they are offered.

Thanks for the suggestion but I had already tried that before hand.

Is everything LAN-related turned on in the BIOS?
Otherwise, perhaps it's the hardware gone bad?
One way to test it is booting into Live Linux (Knoppix, SLAX) and see if the LAN card is detected. If it is, then the hardware is probably fine. If it's not it can mean either that it's not detected or that that flavor if Linux doesn't support it.
Another way (more time consuming) is to do a full system recovery. If the card doesn't work after that, it's quite likely the hardware has gone bad.
