I have an M50S, when i turn it on the power light turns on and the fan turns on but
nothing shows up on the screen. I first assumed it was a video card problem and have tried that yet still nothing. I've tried looking into it and believe it may be the
battery, but if any body else knows any more about it i'd appreciate some advise.

Have you tried connecting to an external monitor to see if you see any video? Or is it stuck and the power light and fan just stay on and nothing else happens. Have you tried removing the battery and the ac adapter and press the power button a couple times. Then try turning on your laptop. What happens now? Is it still the same?

a month ago it was booting up and i was able to log in blindly, i hold it up to an external screen and it was giving nothing so i bought a new video card, after i installed the card i tied turning it on (after a month of not trying) and now just the power light and fan stay on, nothing else happens. i have tried taking the battery out and unplugging the ac plug and pressing the power button but still nothing.

Sounds like the video card was bad if you were not getting video on the external monitor as well. Did you replace the video card with the same model or did you try another model. If the model is still under warranty you can send the unit in for service. If your unit is out of warranty you may have to purchase a M50S motherboard.
