    Ok, this is a dumb question, I just got this laptop and maybe I am blind but I can't seem to find a volume switch on the laptop to turn it up as the speakers are really really low. I know u can change the volume in windows and with the Fn keys, but is there an actual toggle on this thing that I am not seeing cause I've looked all over the laptop and not see anything.

    Are you talking about a physical volume switch? I dont think there is one. I dont think laptops have those anymore.

    Yeah, you have to use the FN key and the volume symbols located at the top.

    Or the volume control in your task bar. Try set the Master Volume and Wave at max. The speakers are pretty loud actually.

    Thats what I figured, doesn't seem nearly loud enough for me with the volume set to max.

    Lol. I'm the same way. I'm partially deaf though, so I have EVERYTHING blaring.

    No, there is no volume knob.

    I was frustrated because the M50 wasn't as loud as I wanted.

    So, I did some poking around.....

    Control Panel>Appearance and Personalization>Additional Options(at far left of screen)>Realtek HD Audio Manager>Sound Effects....Check Loudness Equalization & Choose "Live," "Bass," or "Jazz" in the Equalizer.

    Upon doing this I found a significant increase in volume.

    Whaaat are you talking about? Pretty much all laptops have bottons or something to change the sound volume...

    @OP
    The volume can be changed via the secondary mode on the touchpad? Right?

    Yeah, my toshiba I bought last year had a knob for the volume, as well as a touchpad silimar to the M50Sv, but the touch pad just controls the volume that you can change using the speaker icon in the taskbar, so no dice, I still find the volume really low in movies/tv shows even with it cranked to max, games are ok though.

    Congrats on being past $1000.

    Yes, the volume can be controlled with the multi-media touch pad....but only to the limit of how the system is configured.

    See my post a couple of posts up....Taking those steps increases the maximum volume that the laptop will produce. Thus, the slider on the touchpad has more volume accessible to it.

    Thanks for the nice words deadmanwins :D

    Increasing the default volume for an OP is always possible. So to everyone that complains about quiet speakers, play around with your settings etc and you will get results!
