M50Sa-X1

Anyone have any experience with this computer?

It's 1,299.00 on Newegg and has some impressive specs.
I've looked around for a long time to find a review on this specific computer but I can't find any.

Specs:

T9300 2.5
4gb ram
250 (5200rpm) HD
ATI Radeon 3650 1gb dedicated card.

The Asus M50Sz-X1 is basically the same as the M50Sv-A1 but with slightly different specs. Check out my review (link in sig)

Thank you Emporium, and the only thing I don't like about the X1 is the res. (its plain wxga) I'll probably pick it up at the end of the month, (and write an extensive review)

 

Yea, the X1 version does have a lower res screen. The A1 has a 1440x900 which is standard for a 15".
Another important thing to note is the warranty. Any Asus purchased at Best Buy only comes with a 1 year warranty. If purchased from a reputable Asus reseller like GenTechPC, you get the standard 2 year international warranty + 1 year accidental with a 30 day bright dot screen protection.

 

I don't think buying from Best Buy gets rid of the manufacturer warantee. That's the manufacturer's warantee, it stays w/ the product. If bestbuy also gives you an additional 1 year warantee, thats definitely a good buy. But if I am wrong about this let me know.

You can also buy from Newegg, that's what I would do.

 

Actually, newegg does provide the standard manufacturer warranty but Best Buy doesn't as far as i know. Either way, I feel much better purchasing it from a reseller simply because if anything does go wrong, they are always available to help. Newegg is a great electronics retailer, but when it comes to actual, help, they will ask you to contact the manufacturer.

 

I thought that all -x1 and -x2 models come with the reduced 1 year warranty and without the ZBD/accidental additions... but newegg seems to list some of those with the full warranty, so which one is it?

 

best buy skus are different and usually have only 1yr. i am not sure about newegg but newegg has been seen listing 1yr warranty. the laptop it self will tell you what type of warranty is included

Does it have the 110-230 volt adapter or i have to order one separately?

I just ordered mine off Newegg friday the 9th, The damn thing had better come with a power adapter.

 

So post please, when you will receive it, does it have the 230 volt adapter.

Nobody using it elsewhere but USA?

Can it work in Europe with 220-230 volt or i need additional adapter???
