I'm really looking into this laptop, and the only drawback I'm seeing is the resolution,

is the difference easily noticeable or is it hardly different,

I plan on ordering tonight so rapid input is appreciated, thanks

Difference from what 1280*800 or 1680*1050?
Do you like lower or higher resolution cause I know lot's of people who prefer lower, and lot's of people who prefer higher...

The M50Sv-A1 has a resolution of 1440x900. This res is optimal for most people for a 15" screen. A 1680x1050 on a 15" would also be a good choice for those whom do photo or video editing which provides more screen real estate to work with. Keep in mind that the higher resolution you use, the smaller the text/icons will get. So if you want something that is easiest on your eyes, go with a lower resolution.

I'm over 50 and the 1440x900 is great for a 15" laptop--large enough for me to read, small enough for me to have several windows open at once. :)

For me, 1400 on a 15" is a bit on the high side. Not because I don't see it, but because I have to struggle to see it. Therefore, I use 110% DPI on my V6J.
