I'm trying to connect to my printer through my infrared port on my m50vm but I can't get this notebook to 'see' the printer, even inches apart. I hear talk about enabling the IR port in bios but I don't see anything of that nature and I guess I'm just sorta stumped.
I'm hoping you guys can point me in the right direction.

Hi Jared, which operating system are you using? If you're using vista, then the infrared port should work and if you have XP, then it won't (no driver support).

Check to see if your infrared port is working properly - ie no exclamation mark in your device manager.
Make sure you have your printer drivers/software installed and using the software, see if there is an option to change the port setting in the printer driver to the infrared port.

    Hope this helps :)

    Thanks for the reply David!

I'm using windows vista. Under the device manger everything is working properly and everything is enable. All the infrared devices are under the 'Human Interface Devices' directory. I have friends using the same printer with a machine that uses xp and it sees the printer right away. I'll try using the printer software if i can track it down, thanks for the advice.
