I just got my M50VM-B1 in the mail, and it looks fantastic. Ken at GenTechPC told me that all of the drivers (video, audio, speakers, cool touchpad, webcam, fingerprint reader) are compatible with Vista 64 bit. However, ASUS America tech support tells me that if I install 64 bit, I will not be able to use all of these drivers.
What's the deal? Can I safely install Home Premium 64 bit and enjoy my 4 gigs of RAM? Or will I lose the cool touchpad, the speakers, and the webcam?
Thanks for the help!
P.S. If I do upgrade to 64 bit, can I get my money refunded for the OEM copy of Home Basic that came pre-installed? I know people have done it before, and the EULA reads: "If you do not accept [the terms], do not use the software. Instead, contact the manufacturer or installer to determine their return policy for a refund or credit."

About the refund, you can try.
And since the notebook is new, I recommend just try installing Vista 64 and installing the drivers. There's nothing to lose on the old system because you didn't install anything yet, so the worst that can happen is that you do a HDD recovery that takes half an hour and gets you back to the factory-config. -
I tried to do that last time when I bought F3JP with deutsch windows xp MCE.
I wanted to have english windows MCE, but ASUS refused to change it.
They said in German market I will get only German windows and there is no chance to replace it with English version.
