So I opened up my Asus for the first time and discovered that the 1 gb chip is a Samsung pc2 5300s and the 2 gb one is unmarked but is ddr2667 1.8 v.

Since thier different brands could that be why I cant oc over 2.7 ?

Is this enough of an issue that I should just spend 70 bucks and replace both with 2 gb sticks from the same company?

    Thanks

Why did you open your ASUS NB?
Does it have something to do with RAM problems?

No problems except that it blue screens after an oc of 2.8 or higher which is odd and unusual compared to others.

I opend the computer just to look.
