    Hey guys,

I've read up a little on the problems others were having, but didn't really find any answers that solved my problem

I just got my m51sn-x2 in and have been getting it all together (deleting bloatware, setting up security, etc.) and was wondering how I could get the fingerprint reader to work?

The first time I created my user it had me swipe my finger, but when it took me to the fingerprint setup wizard an error screen popped up saying something along the lines of it didn't have a part of the driver to store my fingerprint for future use or something like that. Well I exited out of all of that and went to the Asus site to download some fingerprint drivers. I think I downloaded all of them for my system (Vista 32bit) and still nothing. I can't even find the fingerprint setup wizard.

I haven't actually start deleting all of my bloatware, so I know I haven't gotten rid of the program or drivers. If anyone could help hat would be awesome. I've searched up and down for the setup wizard and can't find it at all. Hopefully someone knows what's up?

    Thanks guys

I am having the exact same problem. The first time I logged it, it asked me to swipe my fingerprint, and I also received an error. I have not been able to find the software to set it back up so that I can start using it. I see the device in my Device Manager under "Personal identification devices" listed as an AuthenTec Inc. AES1610. The driver is installed and it is "working properly".

I loaded the Asus driver and utility disk that shipped with the laptop and looked for the software but don't see anything of the sort. Certainly there has to be some sort of software where I can associate my fingerprint to my user account, but I cannot find it anywhere.

Once I get this fingerprint reader to work, I will absolutely love this laptop.
