    Hi,

I just bought a 512mb stick of MicroDimm (214pin) ram for my Asus M5Ae laptop. I tried to install it but I'm having some problems.

When I put the ram in, the laptop doesn't boot up. It turns on and then shuts off. When I remove the ram, the laptop boots up normally.

Do I have a stick of faulty ram or am I doing something wrong here?

You have to be really careful putting those microdimms in, it just lays on the connector as opposed to 'snapping' in like normal ram, and the pins are very delicate.
