I put together a M5N setup for my friend today and the DVDROM is I think defective (detected in BIOS, but will not boot, nor show up in XP). I already sent message to Asus help centre, I really don't want to go to the RMA route, is it just a common user error? or I am just unlucky? or anyone else had or heard about DOA DVDROM of Asus?

    Thanks

I took my M5N back to the store, and they got me a new one next day morning! Not only the DVDROM is now working great, the fan noise is also reduced (although still a tiny bit noiser than my M3N)!
