I read on the asus website that the M6BNe laptop only weighs 5.6 lbs, but the equivalent laptop from PowerNotebooks.com is listed as 6.5 lbs. Has anyone purchased this notebook from PowerNotebooks? Perhaps Asus only listed the weight without the battery? This seems like a really awesome notebook, but I'm really looking for something that's less than 6 lbs total. Thanks for the help.

It doesn't matter who you buy it from, it'll weigh comparably. Asus lists the weight without optical drive. My system weighed at 6.83 lbs. This is with optical drive, two memory modules and wireless card. I think all manufacturer specs are underestimates of reality.
