For all of you who have purchased a M6Ne/M6BNe barebone.. have you ever tried updating your BIOS to a Z70Ne BIOS?
There is a person on notebookforums.com claiming that there IS a difference between then preconfigured M6s available in other places in the world and barebone "generic" versions... and thus the BIOSes will behave differently on each machine (i.e barebone M6s should use the barebone Z70Ne BIOS)

I'm about to flash my barebone M6Ne with the newest Z70Ne BIOS (0207Ge... note that it's "Ge" and not "Ae")

    Wish me luck

Very interesting... I'm now using the 0207Ge BIOS for the Z70Ne.
The first thing I noticed was that the usual BIOS logo has changed.
Instead of showing "ASUS" and "Intel Centrino" in the bottom right corner, all I see is an "Intel Centrino" logo in the centre; NO asus logo at all on the BIOS logo.

Other than that, I'd have to say... my fans are working quite well. I haven't used it long enough to say too much about it... I'll try to keep you guys updated.

Well, after more vigorous testing...I've concluded that the 0207Ge BIOS is exactly the same as the German 0207Ae.001. BIOS file.
And thus, I've gone back to the 0208Ae BIOS... the most recent one released by ASUS.

    I'm tired of updating BIOSes [ :(]
haha... it was worth a shot though.

Did you try 0208 yet? The fan slows down.

    Thanks,

Yeah, I've used 0208 for a while now... I just wanted to try the Z70Ne BIOSes as an experiment.
    0208 works alright I suppose..

That was me on Notebookforums. I haven't noticed any great improvement in fan behavior. The only reason I'm using it is that with the Ae BIOS my system would always hang on the second time it went into Standby mode, and with the Ge BIOS it doesn't. And Ge stands for Generic, not German...

Well, I never said that it stood for German... it's just that experimentally, the Ge and Ae from the German site worked the same way on my M6Ne...
